Art in Progress Party

History

Welcome to the Art-in-Progress archives.

The Art-in-Progress Party is the brainchild of Anna Dax and her collaborator CT Jarvis. Launched in August 2001, they hatched the idea as an impetus to work on the Adventures of Anti-Career Girl. Their theory was that people work more on a creative project when they are faced with an impending deadline and the possibility of a friendly audience.

Little did they know that, in future years, the concept would become so popular, that they would have to beat submissions off with a stick, and would become independently wealthy by selling presentation opportunities at the event.
